NFTs are a new type of cryptocurrency that certifies a digital asset is one-of-a-kind and not interchangeable. In purchasing an NFT, the buyer becomes the sole owner of the original digital artwork.

Marvel first announced its partnership with Orbis Blockchain Technologies Limited back in June, with President of Marvel Entertainment Dan Buckley saying at the time, "Since the beginning, collecting has always gone hand in hand with being a Marvel fan. Like us, VeVe understands collecting is about the experience just as much as the product, and we look forward to extending that experience for our fans over the years to come."

As part of the partnership, Buckley revealed that Marvel will sell NFT digital collectibles, 3D statues and digital comic books through Veve's "mixed reality" on the app.

Fans can buy and collect a variety of rare Marvel comic books and collectibles via the VeVe Digital Collectibles App, which is available on iOS and Android. Fans can also display their hard-earned collection through fully customizable virtual showrooms.
