One of the most iconic superheroes in all of fiction Spider-Man. Originating from the Marvel universe, the character is known for being the everyman who deals with romantic interests about as much as he fights his villains. However, with all the incarnations and interpretations the character had, he never had a true successor until recently. Enter Miles Morales, who became Spider-Man after the death of his universe's Peter Parker. Since his appearance, he has become incredibly beloved and arguably considered standing toe to toe with the main guy.

However, he has also had his own share of incarnations. Some amazing and some not as good. Here are the 5 best and worst versions of Miles Morales.

10 Best: Into The Spider-Verse

Spider-Man Into The Spider-Verse Miles Morales

Starting this list off is arguably the absolute best version of Miles Morales. So good that it might even be considered the definitive version. This version is similar to his comic book counterpart where he has to take the mantle of his universe's Spider-Man after he's passed away.

Not only do viewers get to see the journey that Miles goes through with the rest of the spider-people, but the film isn't afraid of showing how human he is. His failures and his insecurities, all bottled up into his own personal expression as the web slinger.

9 Worst: Spider-Man Life Story

This is definitely a harsh choice to pick, but it is one of the few that has to be talked about. For those who may not have read it, Spider-Man: Life Story is an elseworlds tale of Spider-Man's entire life if he continued to age as the decades rolled past. Readers get to see this Peter Parker go from his lowest and then rise up to the occasion at his best.

It all culminates with this version of Miles Morales where he is not only his successor but is also Doc Ock as a way of paying tribute to the Superior Spider-Man storyline. It may not be the worst ever but it is definitely the worst for this Miles.

8 Best: Spider-Man PS4

Next to Into The Spider-Verse, Marvel's Spider-Man is the other adaptation that is considered definitive by many fans. It was filled with amazing gameplay, spectacular characters, and a sensational story. Gamers also get to see the origins of this version of Miles Morales who acts as a little brother to Peter Parker, before he also gets Spider-Powers himself. However, since he is new, there is a lot of potential for where his story is going. That's something fans should be excited for.

7 Worst: 616 Miles Morales

Introduced during the Spider-Men sequel storyline, Spider-Men II, 616 Miles Morales is actually the 616 Universe version of the character. It's the same universe that the main canonical Spider-Man is from. However, unlike the Miles that most fans are aware of, this version is nothing more than a criminal who never got superpowers and has scars all over his face. Eventually becoming a villain known as Ultimatum, he had access to the Ultimate universe's Giant Mans equipment along with Captain America's shield.

6 Best: Mayor Miles Morales

The most recent version of Miles Morales, he is from a universe where he fights to his last breath. Now the Mayor of New York City, the world has been mostly demolished thanks to a threat known as the "Germs." With Brooklyn being one of the last places standing, this Miles revealed his identity to the world and became the last hope for that part of New York. Fighting to his last, he eventually sacrifices his life in order to save Brooklyn and drive back the Germ army.

5 Worst: Aunt May Became Carnage Miles Morales

A version of Miles Morales that only appeared briefly in Spider-Verse volume 3 issue 2, this is an evil Spider-Man who has joined together with Carnage. The symbiote bonded with Aunt May of all characters. That being said, Miles, along with Uncle Ben and Peter Parker, traveled across the multiverse in order to kill their counterparts as they believed that the multiverse is a mistake due to new universes being created based on their decisions.

4 Best: Married Miles Morales

Miles and Gwen as part of The Amazing 8

Based in an alternate reality where Miles Morales ended up marrying Spider-Gwen, this happened as a result of the war with the web of life and destiny. In this alternate take, after falling in love, the two eventually settled down on Earth 8 where they became celebrities. Having two children who are also spider-people in their own right, they eventually created a team consisting of a variety of Spider individuals from other universes called the Amazing Eight. It included Spider-Ham and Peni Parker.

3 Worst: Gwen Pool Reveals Miles' Identity

Compared to the previous entry where Miles Morales had a happy life with an alternate Gwen Stacy, another one saw Miles Morales' life be entirely ruined. As a result of an evil Gwen Pool, his identity was revealed to the world and had the Goblin family murder his entire family, including his wife and child. This resulted in a vengeful Miles Morales who traveled back in time in order to kill her. Although that also left behind the optimistic Miles Morales that fans know and love.

2 Best: Ultimate Spider-Ham

Having a solid case of uncanny valley, Miles Morhames' life is very similar to his canon counterpart. After the death of his versions' Peter Porker, he took up the mantle and became the Ultimate Spider-Ham. Due to the art, he isn't depicted as being very cartoony.

Instead, it's rather realistic in a weird but cool way. In terms of his actual character, he has wandered all across the multiverse, warning other universes about the impending threat of rifts in the space-time continuum. He has since remained in the Ultimate universe as an advisor for the Future Foundation.

1 Worst: Spider-Mole

A very minor version of Miles Morales that doesn't exactly have the same charm as Spider-Ham and is also far more innocent. While the character is still very much a superhero, this interpretation definitely takes more aspects from his teenager side.

For starters he is quite a romantic, often thinking of his outing with Hss. Marvel as a date rather than taking the whole crime seriously. Despite that, this can be forgiven since Spider-Mole's character is designed primarily for children.
