Don’t shoot the messenger, folks, but there’s apparently a possibility that Hilary Duff is in possession of the screenplay for director Marc Webb’s upcoming Spider-Man reboot. In an article profiling Duff and her professional hockey player husband Mike Comrie, it’s quickly mentioned that Duff is in possession of a Spider-Man script.
Here’s the key excerpt:
Although tastefully furnished (Comrie says he’s unsure if anything is from The Brick), it is relatively humble by Beverly Hills standards. The kitchen contains evidence of their professional lives – his daily diet is posted on the fridge (from a bacon cheddar burrito for breakfast to five pigs-in-a-blanket as a nighttime snack) and a script marked “Spiderman” sits on the table, with lines for a character simply called “girl” highlighted in yellow (rumours swirl about who Spidey’s love interest will be in the series’ next instalment.)
What are the chances that Duff is actually going to wind up in Spider-Man when it rolls into theaters in 2012? Probably not very high, but as she allegedly has a copy of the screenplay, it’s wise to hope for the best and prepare for the worst. But let’s ask some questions: for you personally, how would Duff’s casting in Spider-Man influence your enjoyment of the film? Perhaps just as importantly, how much would it color your view of the project’s ongoing development?
