Kirsten Dunst said she's willing to step into the Spider-Verse one more time as Mary Jane Watson in another Spider-Man movie.

Dunst played Mary Jane in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy, beginning with Spider-Man in 2002 and ending with Spider-Man 3 in 2007. Recent developments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe have opened doors for multiple versions of the same character to co-exist and Dunst was enthusiastic about the possibility of returning as Mary Jane if asked. "Of course I would. Of course. I've been asked about that a few times. That's a no-brainer," Dunst said in an interview with People. "That was a huge part of my career and my life."

Dunst has had a long and successful career, including a Golden Globe win for the FX series Fargo and critical acclaim for The Power of the Dog, but she will always be grateful for Spider-Man. "It's such a cool legacy to be a part of, and to be the first one and be a Spider-Man fan," she said. "It's legacy things that feel really exciting. It's nice to be excited about something. All of us are dealing with so much right now."

This isn't the first time that Dunst has expressed a willingness to return to the role of MJ. She spoke previously about the tendency for her movies to be remade or rebooted and suggested she would love to return as an older and more mature MJ. "I wish they'd put me in another one," Dunst said of the Spider-Man movies. "Like, old-girl Mary Jane -- why not? I would do [another superhero movie]. Everybody else is!"

The Peter Parker/Spider-Man to Dunst's Mary Jane was Tobey Maguire, who recently returned to the franchise to play his version of the Web-Slinger in Spider-Man: No Way Home alongside fellow Spider-Mans Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland. However, neither Dunst nor Emma Stone as The Amazing Spider-Man's love interest Gwen Stacy were anywhere to be seen. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige previously addressed why Dunst and Stone weren't brought back, saying their return wouldn't serve the story. "When people see the movie, they will understand. It's about the story," he explained.

Despite not being asked to return, Dunst is eager to see Spider-Man: No Way Home although she recently admitted she has not had the chance yet. "I haven't. I'm sorry!" she said "I know I have to. I know [Maguire]'s in it and it's such a huge surprise and everyone's freaking out. I will. I'll eventually watch it."

Spider-Man: No Way Home is now in theaters.
