WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Amazing Spider-Man #57 by Nick Spencer, Mark Bagley, John Dell, Andrew Hennesy, Andy Owens, Rachelle Rosenberg, Edgar Delgado & VC's Joe Caramagna, on sale now.

The "Last Remains" storyline in Amazing Spider-Man ended with Wilson Fisk using the Spot to create a machine to capture and imprison Kindred. With that, it seemed that Spider-Man and Norman Osborn found themselves freed of the demonic Harry Osborn.

That turned out to be far from the truth. While Spider-Man might have washed his hands of the entire Osborn family, Harry has not washed his hands of Peter Parker. As a matter of fact, the entire time that Spider-Man was making it clear to Norman that he was finished, Kindred was listening to the entire conversation and revealed things are far from over.

Norman Osborn begged Spider-Man to help him save Harry, and the wall-crawler refused to help. He told Norman to leave Harry to rot and that if anyone frees Harry after this, he will bring everything down on Norman. It makes sense after all the torture that Spider-Man went through at the hands of Kindred, but the villain never got what he wanted. He wanted Spider-Man to admit his part in the pain and torture that inflicted both of them and their friends over the years. However, Peter refused to take any responsibility for it and still refuses to accept that he was to blame for anything.

The problem is that Norman Osborn had a system set up where Kindred could hear everything they were saying. He was trying to use it to speak to his son and reach and help him, but Kindred would not respond to Norman. And as Spider-Man arrived and physically assaulted Norman, Kindred listened and paid attention to everything. To make things worse, Kindred also narrated the entire issue, talking about how he was captured and saying that Peter deserved a happy hero's ending, but he wouldn't get it.

After Spider-Man beat up Norman Osborn for asking for help one too many times and then left, Kindred made a shocking declaration. He said that Spider-Man's spider-sense warned him something was wrong, but Peter was safe and free out there, and Kindred was locked away and trapped, exactly where he wants to be. Kindred has proven he is very powerful and has an incredible reach with his demonic powers. He brought Mysterio and Sin-Eater back from the dead. He killed and resurrected Spider-Man over and over again and he seems to know of Peter Parker's deal with the devil from "One More Day."

At the end of the story, Kindred proved he could still attack Peter Parker, even if he himself is trapped in a cage. When Carlie Cooper was investigating the corpses retrieved from the cemetery (Gwen Stacy, Uncle Ben, and more), she realized there was one body too many, and then Kindred-like tentacles attacked her.

This extra body will start the next mystery in Amazing Spider-Man, whether it is Harry Osborn or possibly even the body of Peter Parker, who was killed and brought back several times. Kindred knows he can't take the responsibility as long as he is trapped in this cage, and Spider-Man will have no idea that he might be through with the Osborn family, but Kindred is far from through with his vendetta against Peter Parker.
