Sony has added another Spider-Man spinoff film to its list of upcoming projects.

According to Deadline, the studio has added a Jackpot movie to the Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters. Arrow creator Marc Guggenheim, who also contributed to the character's comic book series, is attached to pen the script. Jackpot joins fellow SPUMC spinoffs Morbius, Venom and Madame Web.

Jackpot was created for 2007's Spider-Man: Swing Shift by Dan Slott and Phil Jimenez. Prior to her superhero debut, Sara Ehret worked for an Oscorp subsidiary, where she was exposed to a virus that rewrote her DNA and gave her super strength. She became the hero Jackpot for a short while, before her responsibilities as a parent led her to pass the mantle onto Alana Jobson. Unlike Sara, Alana had no "natural" superpowers; she had to use Mutant Growth Hormone to achieve the same abilities as her predecessor. This superpower steroid cocktail eventually led to her death, but not before she teamed up with Spider-Man for a mission.

In addition to her role in the Spider-Man titles, Jackpot once led her own miniseries. Amazing Spider-Man Presents: Jackpot ran for three issues under Guggenheim and artist Adriana Melo. This followed the Sara Ehret version of the character. At the time of writing, it is unclear whether Sony's Jackpot film will feature Sara, Alana or both.
