Phil Lord, co-writer and producer of 2018's Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, shared a breakdown of the film's plot, also called a "storywheel."An image shared by Lord on Twitter shows a white board full of Into the Spider-Verse plot points and details. "So here is the “storywheel” of Spider-Verse," Lord said. "We did a big shakeup of the story less than a year from release and we had to figure out how to reshape sequences we had already boarded and animated and fold them in with new stuff. Directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey and Rodney Rothman, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse initially released in the United States on December 14, 2018. Lord co-wrote the film's screenplay along with Rothman. Into the Spider-Verse was met with overwhelmingly positive reviews and even won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.

An Into the Spider-Verse sequel is currently in the works with Joaquim Dos Santos attached to direct and David Callaham penning the script. Not much has been released about the sequel's plot, though Lord recently teased that one of the most bizarre versions of Spider-Man will make an appearance. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2 is set to release on April 8, 2022.

Directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, and Rodney Rothman, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse stars Shameik Moore, Brian Tyree Henry, Jake Johnson, Mahershala Ali, Hailee Steinfeld, Liev Schreiber, Luna Lauren Velez, Lily Tomlin, Nicolas Cage, John Mulaney and Kimiko Glenn. The film is available on Digital HD, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD.
