Fans of the Oscar-winning animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse have recreated an iconic scene in live-action, getting the attention of one of the film's directors in the process.The recreation was shared on Twitter by Jenoah Bush. "New scene recreation done from [Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse] with my uncle!" Bush wrote. "I've been a fan a Spider-Man since I was a kid so this was fun to film." The scene in question is when main protagonist Miles Morales and his uncle, Aaron Davis, break out the spray paint to create an elaborate and colorful graffiti mural shortly before Miles is bitten by the radioactive spider that grants him his superpowers. The video caught the attention of Into the Spider-Verse co-director Peter Ramsey, who wrote, "Just... wow. Directed by Ramsey alongside Bob Persichetti and Rodney Rothman, Into the Spider-Verse released in theaters in December of 2018, and would go on to win Best Animated Feature Film at both the Golden Globes and the Academy Awards. A sequel is slated to arrive in theaters in October of 2022 from director Joaquim Dos Santos, with David Callaham penning the screenplay and Phil Lord, Christopher Miller and Amy Pascal returning as producers. A spinoff starring the characters of Gwen Stacy, Jessica Drew and Cindy Moon is also in the works.

Directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2 arrives in theaters Oct. 7, 2022.
