You don't have to live in New York City to have a friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. As "Guardians of the Galaxy" director James Gunn revealed today on Facebook, filming of "Spider-Man: Homecoming" has commenced at Atlanta's PInewood Studios.

Gunn is currently filming his own sequel, "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" at Pinewood, and, along with "Guardians" star Chris Pratt, was nice enough to greet the "Homecoming" team. Here he is with Pratt and the latest guy to don the red and blue tights, Tom Holland (with "Homecoming" director Jon Watts presumably behind the camera).

It's worth reading the comments in Gunn's Facebook post, where he answers several fan questions, including when they can expect the first "Vol. 2" trailer ("Not for a long while") and whether or not Holland is making a cameo in it (he's not). He also recounts a joke or two from Stan Lee. This is all just the latest bit of Spidey-related news -- three new cast members were announced earlier on Monday, along with a director named for Sony's animated "Spider-Man" movie -- though no word on whether it will be Peter Parker or Miles Morales in the title role.

Directed by Jon Watts and starring Tom Holland as Spider-Man/Peter Parker, Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man and Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, "Spider-Man: Homecoming" is scheduled for release on July 7, 2017.
