Not to be outdone by Hasbro, which has been teasing its line of merchandise tied to "Spider-Man: Homecoming," Japanese toymaker Medicom has unveiled its first action figure from the highly anticipated franchise reboot.
Although the company's listing for its MAFEX Spider-Man ("Homecoming" Ver.) figure is a little light on details, we can clearly see its most notable features, which include three head sculpts -- two masked with different eye lenses, and a third unmasked that looks remarkably like Tom Holland -- interchangeable hands, a web effects piece, a mask accessory and a display stand.
Standing about 5.9 inches tall, the figure boasts more than 30 points of articulation, which makes those very Spider-Man-like poses seen in the images below possible.
Priced at about $60 the collectible figure isn't expected to ship until October, about three months after "Spider-Man: Homecoming" arrives in theaters.
A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.
Directed by Jon Watts, “Spider-Man: Homecoming” stars Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Tyne Daly, Bokeem Woodbine, Marisa Tomei and Robert Downey Jr. The film opens July 7.
