Disney XD has released a new Spider-Man: Homecoming special ahead of the film's release next month. There's a lot to digest in the more than 20-minute long "A Fan's Guide to Spider-Man: Homecoming," but the video serves as a good primer for webheads excited to see their Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man swing into action in short order.

The video is hosted by Tom Holland, who plays Peter Park in the film, and Zendaya, who plays Michelle. There are also appearances by the film's various co-stars, including Robert Downey Jr. and Jon Favreau, who together kicked off the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Iron Man in 2008. The two spoke at length about their affinity for Spider-Man, and it's clear they would have happily used Spidey and his supporting cast in the movies way back then.

Another interview sees Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige it's describe Peter's new suit as the most iconic Spider-suit ever, with its lens-like eyes and authentic texturing. It's a sentiment that director Jon Watts shares.

"The idea that the Spider-Man suit could be Stark Tech really just opened up the door to a lot of really great stuff," Watts said. According to a few clips from the video, the suit includes both a heater and a spider drone Peter can release to perform reconnaissance -- all courtesy of Tony Stark, naturally.

The video also includes brief interviews with most of the cast and crew, extended snippets from what fans have seen in the trailers, and, most enticing, panels from the comics that inspired the movie. Judging from the panels presented, it looks like the movie takes several cues from the early Brian Michael Bendis and Mark Bagley run on Ultimate Spider-Man and Todd McFarlane's run from the early '90s.

Arriving in theaters July 7, director Jon Watts’ Spider-Man: Homecoming stars Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Jon Favreau, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Tyne Daly, Marisa Tomei and Robert Downey Jr.
