Although eagle-eyed fans have uncovered a lot of references in Spider-Man: Homecoming, director Jon Watts has now revealed there's one to Howard the Duck that's remained undiscovered.

During a talk with the cast and crew, Watts was asked if Homecoming had any uncovered Easter eggs. “There is,” he replied. “It’s like almost so obscure that I don’t even know if anyone could ever find it, but there’s a Howard the Duck reference. It’s a very small, small Easter egg hidden in tall grass.” The exact reference is unclear at this time.

After Watts revealed the Easter egg, Samuel L. Jackson, who plays Nick Fury in Spider-Man: Far From Home, remarked, "Always reasons to go back."

Howard the Duck was created by Steve Gerber and Val Mayerik. He first appeared in 1973's Adventure into Fear #19. The popular character was played by Chip Zien in the much-derided 1986 film Howard the Duck. He's also made several appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe over the years. Seth Green played the character in both Guardians of the Galaxy films, in which he makes short cameos. The character most recently appeared in Avengers: Endgame.
