Spider-Man: Homecoming writer Jonathan Goldstein revealed that other Avengers were initially set to appear in the film.

During a Quarantine Watch Party on Twitter hosted by ComicBook.com, Goldstein explained, "We had about five more of these educational videos with Avengers in them." This, of course, is a nod to the public service announcements shown in Peter Parker's school classes featuring Chris Evans as Captain America.

The PSAs show Captain America in the costume that he wore in The Avengers, so the videos were likely filmed not long after the Battle of New York. As such, fans suspect the other superhero cameos could've been from some of the original six Avengers, with one Twitter user joking, "Please tell me one was anger management with Bruce."

The educational videos were used in a number of scenarios around Peter's high school, such as in gym class for a "Captain America Fitness Challenge" and for when students were given detention. "So, you got detention," Cap says in one particularly memorable segment. "You screwed up. You know what you did was wrong. The question is, how are you gonna make things right?"

The PSAs are even more ironic due to the film's placing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline, as Spider-Man: Homecoming takes place after the events of Captain America: Civil War, where Cap becomes a criminal after violating the Sokovia Accords. "Pretty sure this guy's a war criminal now, but whatever, I have to show these videos it's required by the state," Coach Wilson jokes.

Spider-Man: Homecoming featured a number of familiar faces from the MCU, most notably Robert Downey Jr. returning as Iron Man in a mentoring role to Spider-Man. Their father/son dynamic saw Tony Stark watch over the teenager as he embraced his new role as a superhero. The film also saw Jon Favreau reprise his role as Happy Hogan and Gwyneth Paltrow make a brief appearance as Pepper Potts.

Far From Home similarly featured the return of Samuel L. Jackson and Cobie Smulders as Nick Fury and Maria Hill, respectively. Spider-Man: No Way Home is also set to feature Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange.
