Your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man’s next solo film just may turn out to feature an entirely new outfit for the wall-crawler to fight crime in, if a certain rumor is to be believed. According to Louis Frogley, the costume designer of Spider-Man: Homecoming, the superehero will don a new version of his iconic costume in the sequel.

In an interview with India West, Frogley noted in passing that big changes are in store for Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Homecoming 2. When asked if she was designing the costumes for the sequel, Frogley answered: “I am not actually working on that film, but the costumes will have very big changes because, in the film, Spider-Man becomes more like man and not teenager.”

Of course, it’s important to note that Frogley isn’t actually working on the Homecoming sequel, meaning that she may not be fully aware of what exactly the plans for the film are. However, her statement doesn’t appear to come out of nowhere. After all, after the events of Avengers: Infinity War, Peter Parker will (presumably) return after having gone through an emotional gauntlet.

It would therefore make sense for him to reflect that growth with a new costume, considering that Spider-Man’s outfit changes have always been symbolic by nature.
