WARNING: The following contains spoilers for The Amazing Spider-Man: The Sins of Norman Osborn #1 by Nick Spencer, Federick Vicentini, Edgar Delgado, & VC's Joe Caramagna, on sale now

Spider-Man is in a challenging situation right now as he had to make one of the hardest decisions of his life in the pages of The Amazing Spider-Man.

Sin-Eater is back, but this time he isn't killing anyone. Instead, he has a way to blast them with his shotgun and take away their sins. While that is an interesting twist, he is also taking away their powers and taking them for himself. His latest target is someone that has hurt Peter Parker more than anyone in the world. Norman Osborn is in charge of Ravencroft Institute, and Sin-Eater is headed there, and the former Green Goblin is his next target.

Spider-Man has already spoken to some of his close friends about this predicament. Miles Morales, who watched the Norman Osborn from his world kill Peter Parker, admitted that it might be better for Sin-Eater to neuter Norman and take away his taste for villainy. Spider-Gwen also admitted that Norman is evil, and losing him from the rogue gallery of bad guys might not be a bad thing. However, Spider-Man realized he had no choice. He couldn't let Sin-Eater take out Osborn, and he leaped into action to save his foe, much to the chagrin of Madame Web.

Spider-Man In Sins of Norman Osborn

Now, it appears that saving Norman Osborn won't be the end of what Spider-Man has to do to stop Sin-Eater. When Spider-Man gets Norman away from Sin-Eater and to safety, Osborn takes him to his secret room in Ravencroft, where he said Spider-Man would thank him, eventually. Norman mentioned there was an inmate that could help them, but he soon learned they were too late, and Sin-Eater had already released Juggernaut and blasted him with the shotgun, taking his sin and his immense powers.

Spider-Man saw that Dr. Kafka was still alive, or at least a clone of her was in Ravencroft, and when he saw Sin-Eater steal Juggernaut's powers, Spidey flipped out on Norman and knocked him across the room. However, this was where Osborn dropped the bomb on Spider-Man: he informed him that he saw what Peter had seen as well — the return of Kindred.

As shown in The Amazing Spider-Man #37, it was Kindred that brought Sin-Eater back into Spider-Man's life, and it was all about getting his revenge on Norman Osborn and Peter Parker. When Kindred was bringing back Sin-Eater, he even mentioned that part of him pressing on right now was due to Norman Osborn letting him know he knew his real identity, something readers have still never discovered.

While Spider-Man knew about Kindred and his obsession with him, the fact is that Kindred also had an intense hatred for Osborn as well. As Norman said, Kindred and Sin-Eater won't stop until both of them are dead, and the demon will sacrifice the entire city to bring them down. Osborn admitted the two of them are in this together, like it or not, and they are in it to the bitter end. It is time for Spider-Man and the Green Goblin to team up to battle a common foe.
