Spider-Man: Far From Home Fan Art Is the Venom Crossover We Crave

As Spider-Man actor Tom Holland adds his voice to the chorus that wants to see Peter Parker suited up against Venom, some fans are already envisioning that might look like.

Bringing together the events of Avengers: Infinity War and the title of the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming, artist Boss Logic envisions a wall-crawler who is "Far From Home," and being enveloped by the alien symbiote.

The timing couldn't be better given Holland's statements at ACE Comic-Con in Seattle, where he indicated he would indeed like to fight Venom some day. However, that doesn't seem likely to happen anytime soon, as Sony’s Venom movie isn’t part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. (Holland's Spider-Man exists in the MCU as part of a co-production deal between Marvel Studios and Sony, but many of the related characters, including Venom, do not.)

Still, there have been rumors of a Holland cameo in director Ruben Fleischer's Venom, so perhaps there remains a glimmer of hope that he could face off against Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock, eventually.

Opening Oct. 25, Sony's Venom stars Tom Hardy, Riz Ahmed, Michelle Williams, Jenny Slate, Scott Haze, and Reed Scott. Directed by Jon Watts, Spider-Man: Far From Home stars Tom Holland and Marisa Tomei. The film opens July 5, 2019.
