Spider-Man: Far From Home Early Reactions Praise Clever, Sweet Film

Following press screenings for Spider-Man: Far From Home, social media reactions are beginning to surface online, with many claiming the film surpasses its predecessor Spider-Man: Homecoming.

A majority of the reactions are, perhaps unsurprisingly, very positive. Many call the film incredibly fun, while others note that the way it handles the Marvel Cinematic Universe post-Avengers: Endgame is well done. Zendaya and Jake Gyllenhaal are cited as standouts.

Both Zendaya and Gyllenhaal are being hailed for their performances alongside Spidey himself Tom Holland. Zendaya's MJ is even compared to Shuri by one critic, while others say Gyllenhaal appears to have the time of his life during his screen time as Mysterio. The biggest praise, however, continues to go to Holland for his portrayal of the titular hero, with some saying the MCU is in good hands if Holland's Peter Parker is set to lead the franchise's future.

The biggest takeaway from the reactions is that the film, like Homecoming, is told on a much smaller scale than other Marvel movies and goes out of its way to tell a Peter-centric story, despite the events of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Notably, many go out of their way to express their pure excitement over the film's post-credits scenes -- yes, two! -- suggesting they will be both massive and mind-blowing.
