Jon Watts, who directed both MCU Spider-Man films, offered a humorous plea for everyone to stay home during the COVID-19 outbreak.

On Instagram, Watts shared an image referencing his other films in which Spider-Man can be seen working behind a computer with a title at the bottom that reads, "Spider-Man: Work From Home." The caption Watts provided with the image read, "Stay safe everyone!! Amazing photo by Dorklord Collectibles."

The highly contagious COVID-19, AKA the coronavirus, has already affected many countries across the world, resulting in the deaths of over 7,000 people at the time of writing. Experts have urged everyone to practice social distancing to avoid spreading the disease. One way to do this is to stay inside as much as possible to limit physical contact with others.

Written and directed by Watts, Spider-Man: Homecoming initially released in the United States on July 7, 2017, with Far From Home releasing on July 2, 2019. After the release of Far From Home, negotiations fell through between Sony and Disney, so it looked like the web-slinger would be leaving the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, a deal was eventually met between the two companies and a third solo Spider-Man film from Marvel Studios is set to begin production this summer.

The third Spider-Man film, which is currently untitled, will show the return of Tom Holland's Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Zendaya's Michelle Jones/MJ. Jon Watts is expected to return as director of the third film, though this hasn't been officially confirmed by Watts or Marvel.

Filming on the third Spider-Man movie is set to take place in Iceland, Atlanta, Los Angeles and New York. It is planned to release on July 16, 2021.
