If you're among those fans waiting impatiently for news about Spider-Man: Far From Home, you'll be pleased to see that Marvel has introduced a handy countdown clock to build even more anticipation for the 2019 release of the sequel.

The first trailer is expected to make its debut in December alongside Sony's Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, but until then, many of the details surrounding Far From Home remain a mystery.

What is known is that most of the key cast members from the 2017 hit Spider-Man: Homecoming will reprise their roles, including Michael Keaton as the villainous Adrian Toomes, aka Vulture. One recently announced addition that has fans excited is Jake Gyllenhaal as classic Spider-Man foe Mysterio.

Leaked set photos have kept the rumor mill turning for months, hinting at the return of Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan, which may mean we'll also see Gwyneth Paltrow once again as Pepper Potts. Add to that list confirmed appearance by Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill.

There have been a few glimpses of Peter Parker's newest Spider-suits, too, one of which star Tom Holland officially debuted on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

The lack of promotional material is interesting in itself. With the fourth installment in the Avengers series expected to be released in April 2019, more than two months before Far From Home, it stands to reason the studio is being coy to avoid any spoilers regarding the fates of some characters.

With 239 days remaining until Far From Home arrives in theaters, there's still plenty of time to pore over the tidbits we've been given. Still, Marvel's helpful clock shows that we're in the home stretch, and all of the waiting and wondering about the next phase in the studio's plans will pay off soon enough.

Directed by Jon Watts, Spider-Man: Far From Home stars Tom Holland, Zendaya Coleman, Marisa Tomei, Michael Keaton, Jake Gyllenhaal, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Jon Favreau, Jacob Batalon, Remy Hii and Tony Revolori. It is scheduled to be released on July 5, 2019.
