Spider-Man Nominated for DICE Awards' Game of the Year

Insomniac Games' PS4-exclusive title Marvel's Spider-Man has been nominated for the Game of the Year honor by the Design Innovate Communicate Entertain (D.I.C.E.) Awards,

The smash-hit superhero game will be competing for this illustrious title against God of War, Into the Breach, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Return of the Obra Dinn.

In total, Marvel's Spider-Man is up for 11 honors at this year's D.I.C.E. Awards, making it the second most nominated game at the event, coming up just shy of God of War's 12 nominations.

As The Hollywood Reporter revealed, Spider-Man is also up for Outstanding Achievement in Animation, Outstanding Achievement in Art Direction, Outstanding Achievement in Character (for the character of Peter Parker), Outstanding Achievement in Original Music Composition, Outstanding Achievement in Sound Design, Outstanding Achievement in Story, Outstanding Technical Achievement, Adventure Game of the Year, Outstanding Achievement in Game Design and Outstanding Achievement in Game Direction.

The winners in each category are chosen by a panel of gaming experts and members of the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences. The awards will be presented during the organization's annual D.I.C.E. Summit, which will take place Feb. 11-13 at the Aria Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. The awards ceremony will be livestreamed on Feb. 13 at 8 pm PT.

Developed by Insomniac Games, Marvel's Spider-Man is available now on PlayStation 4. The third and final DLC story expansion, "Silver Lining," is available now.
