One of Marvel Comics’ more unique pairings is undoubtedly the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man and the merc with a mouth Deadpool. The duo finds itself at odds in Spider-Man/Deadpool‘s opening arc for Marvel Legacy, and the solicitation for the January issue teases the arrival in July of the heroes’ biggest story of all time.
January’s Spider-Man/Deadpool #26 is the fourth part of “Spider-Man vs. Deadpool,” and acts as an interlude in which the story jumps to the future, with both heroes are in their 80s and living in a nursing home. The prospect of Spider-Man and Deadpool still together in their twilight years has all the makings of a chaotic living situation.
The promise of “the biggest Spider-Man and Deadpool story of all time” is sure to raise some eyebrows. Some possible outcomes of their rivalry could be a dissolution of their working relationship or the addition of a new dynamic that makes them more united than ever. With this being comics, the death of one of the characters can never be dismissed, although it occurring during a team-up comic instead of one of their solo series seems unlikely.
