Spider-Man Confirmed to Appear in "Captain America: Civil War"

After more than a few rumors, sort-of confirmations and a lot of speculation, we now know that Spider-Man will indeed appear in Marvel Studios' upcoming "Captain America: Civil War."

In an interview with Vulture promoting "Vacation," newly christened "Spider-Man" writers John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein admitted that the wall-crawling hero does in fact appear in "Captain America" -- and that actor Tom Holland has already filmed his scene as they'll be reviewing the footage this coming weekend.

"We hear good things," Goldstein told Vulture. "We might even get to look at the Spidey suit, which is exciting."

While many assumed Holland would appear in "Captain America" -- especially after news of Holland screen testing with both Iron Man Robert Downey Jr. and Captain America Chris Evans -- the news finally confirms the theories.

As for other Spidey rumors that have been circulating involving villains and casting, Daley said, "We've discussed certain characters, but nothing is certain yet, for sure."

"Captain America: Civil War" is scheduled for release on May 6, 2016; Sony and Marvel's "Spider-Man" solo film is scheduled for July 28, 2017.
