WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for Amazing Spider-Man #75, on sale now from Marvel Comics.

In both the comics and Marvel Cinematic Universe, Peter Parker/Spider-Man has received some pretty incredible tech from Tony Stark/Iron Man that has surpassed even what he's been able to build for himself. At various times, these technological upgrades have helped Peter take down incredibly deadly threats. However, in Amazing Spider-Man #75, by Zeb Wells, Patrick Gleason, Marcio Menyz and VC's Joe Caramagna, Ben Reilly reveals the sort of tech that the Beyond Corporation has given him -- and it puts all of Stark's gifts to shame.

Early in Amazing Spider-Man #75, Peter spots Ben swinging around New York City. The hero tries to grab him with webs, but they don't stick to Ben's suit. Ben then deploys the spinneret, which wraps Peter up for an hour. Later, Ben goes to talk to Peter about what's happening in person.

During their conversation, Ben reveals that he works for the Beyond Corporation, who've been buying assets from such companies as Roxxon and Parker Industries -- including the rights to Spider-Man. As Ben reveals, the Beyond Corporation has invested a ton of money in creating their own version of Spider-Man.

Spider-Man Ben Reilly U-Foes fight

Eventually, the two get into a fight with the U-Foes, four cosmically enhanced villains who are collectively strong enough to stop the Hulk. It's there Ben shows just the sort of tech the Beyond Corporation has given him. Thanks to his new supersuit, Ben is able to take a punch from the incredibly powerful Michael Steel/Ironclad without any issue. As the battle goes on, he's able to dish out a ton of damage and even survive a straight-up explosion without issue.

Peter, though, isn't so lucky, as his low-tech suit results in him getting badly hurt.

While just how long Peter will be out of commission for following his injury isn't clear at this time. Ben, though, will be around to protect the city in his stead. Thanks to his upgrades from the Beyond Corporation, it's hard to imagine there's a foe around that could go toe-to-toe with the new Spider-Man.

However, the power-ups themselves pose a major problem to Ben. On a fundamental level, Spider-Man comics tend to deal with the idea of power versus responsibility. And thanks to these new upgrades, Ben just got a ton more power. So in turn, there's a good chance he'll also need a responsibility boost to match. While Ben has the same moral foundation as Peter, his power has led him to flirt with villainy in a way Spider-Man never has. And if Ben forgets about his responsibilities this time, his time as Spider-Man might have major consequences for New York City and Ben himself.
