Warning: This article contains spoilers for Avengers: Endgame, in theaters now.

As its new trailer suggests, Spider-Man: Far From Home will begin exploring the long-term effects of Thanos' devastating snap from Avengers: Infinity War and its subsequent undoing in Avengers: Endgame.

After being turned into dust for five years, Tom Holland's Peter Parker, Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury and half of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will begin readjusting as they re-enter a world that started to moved without them.

In a new interview with Fandango, Spider-Man: Far From Home director Jon Watts revealed that another classic Spider-Man character, Aunt May, was also a victim of Thanos' snap.

"She disappeared and came back," Watts said.

While audiences already caught a brief glimpse of Marisa Tomei's Aunt May standing next to Peter Parker at Tony Stark's funeral in Avengers: Endgame, Watts' statement contradicts an earlier statement from Joe and Anthony Russo, who directed Infinity War and Endgame, and said that May survived the snap.

Aunt May, Spider-Man and Peter's core high school friends, including Zendaya's Michelle and Jacob Batalon's Ned Leeds, will return as the same age they were when they disappeared. Since their other friends and peers got older and time kept on moving, the snap survivors could find themselves in some awkward situations.

"That's one of the fun things that we get to play with -- the sort of real-world, ground-level implications of something like that," Watts said. "You don't get to see any of the fallout in Endgame, and we get to explore that in our movie. It's really interesting and fun."

While the film will see Peter Parker encounter Nick Fury and Jake Gyllenhaal's Mysterio while on a class trip to Europe, Watts added that Far From Home will spend a little bit of time exploring the Peter's Queens neighborhood and how its adjusting to a post-Endgame world.

"In classic New York style, everyone is just moving on and getting on with their daily lives," Watts said. "Ya know, half the people that disappeared are now back, so let's move on."

Opening July 2, director Jon Watts’ Spider-Man: Far From Home stars Tom Holland, Samuel L. Jackson, Zendaya, Cobie Smulders, Jon Favreau, JB Smoove, Jacob Batalon and Martin Starr, with Marisa Tomei and Jake Gyllenhaal. Avengers: Endgame is currently in theaters.
