Fans were disappointed when the 1990s Spider-Man Animated Series was suddenly no longer available on the streaming service, but it appears that the show will only be temporarily absent from the platform and will return in the future.

The disappearance caught fans off guard over the weekend, as the long-running animated series appearing on Disney+ was one of the highlights of the service for a lot of fans, but one fan pursued the situation with Disney+'s help section and received what appears to be good news for fans of the show.

Twitter user PeteyBats posted an exchange with Disney+'s help section after an inquiry about why Spider-Man: The Animated Series was no longer on the service.

The Disney+ spokesperson replied, "Thanks for getting in touch with us regarding Spider-Man missing from the Disney+ service. I completley understand your frustration here, but please know that we are aware of this issue and are actively working towards a resolution. The good news is that Spider-Man (1994) will be returning to the service shortly, but we do not have any specific dates to share at this time. I would suggest checking the Disney+ app at a later date."

When the inquirer followed up with, "So it is a known issue and will be added back?" the spokesperson replied, "That is correct! In the meantime, we certainly appreciate your patience and understanding while we get Spider-Man (1994) back up and running."

One of the issues with Disney+ is that unlike similar streaming services like Netflix, it does not announce when shows and movies are leaving the service, so fans just find out when the show or movie is missing. However, so far, when a show or movie is being "permanently" removed due to a contract issue with another streaming service (like Garfield and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides), it has happened at the beginning of the month. There have been a number of similar temporary removals so far, including The Sword in the Stone, Avalon High, Never Been Kissed and The Sandlot. Those films and programs all returned to the Disney+ service without any explanation, so the same sort of thing could be occurring with Spider-Man: The Animated Series.
