Producer Amy Pascal discussed rumors claiming that Venom will appear in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

During an interview with Empire Magazine, Pascal played coy regarding whether or not Venom will show up in No Way Home. "You know I'll never tell you that," she said. "But it was a lot of fun to do, and we love Tom Hardy..."

There has been speculation that the Lethal Protector will appear in the third Spider-Man film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Aside from Venom film franchise star Tom Hardy being seen wearing a Spider-Man: No Way Home production hat, the mid-credits scene of Venom: Let There Be Carnage saw Venom somehow being brought to the MCU, where he saw an unmasked Peter Parker on TV.

Prior to this, Let There Be Carnage director Andy Serkis explained why it was good that Eddie Brock hadn't met the MCU's Spider-Man yet. "Look, it depends when you want to get there and also what the appetite is," Serkis said in a previous interview. "If people want more Venom stories, then to jump straight to Spider-Man, you could be missing out on so many great supervillain characters between now and then."

In addition, it was also recently reported that Rhys Ifans' Lizard and Thomas Haden Church's Sandman -- both respectively from 2012's The Amazing Spider-Man and 2007's Spider-Man 3 -- would appear in No Way Home, though director Tom Watts called these reports "rumors." Adding to this, however, is a recent report claiming that the film will also introduce a five-member only version of the Sinister Six, which will include the two villains.

As for Spider-Man himself, Tom Holland stated that No Way Home movie was more than the trilogy's ending. "We were all treating [No Way Home] as the end of a franchise, let's say," Holland said. "I think if we were lucky enough to dive into these characters again, you'd be seeing a very different version. It would no longer be the Homecoming trilogy. We would give it some time and try to build something different and tonally change the films. Whether that happens or not, I don't know. But we were definitely treating [No Way Home] like it was coming to an end, and it felt like it."

Recently, Holland even revealed his pitch for a possible Venom/Spider-Man crossover, which stemmed from a conversation he had with Pascal following negotiations between Sony and Disney, which would decide if Spider-Man remained in the MCU.  "How would we do a film without Marvel? Does Peter Parker fall through a portal, and then he's in the Venom world? Or do we do a Kraven The Hunter film? It was a nice distraction," Holland said. Interestingly, a version of Holland's pitch happened in the mid-credits scene for Venom: Let There Be Carnage but in reverse.

Spider-Man: No Way Home hits theaters on Dec. 17.
