A new social media post from Sony features two potential links between the upcoming Spider-Man 3 and the Disney+ series WandaVision.

The Illuminerdi grabbed screenshots from multiple Story posts that Sony created for its Flash Thompson Instagram account. The first two feature polls detailing the fallout of Peter Parker's identity as Spider-Man being revealed and teasing Ned Leeds becoming Hobgoblin. The final story involves a shot of The Daily Bugle's website, which features a story on Spider-Man's identity reveal. But elsewhere in the image, there seem to be nods to WandaVision.

At the bottom of the page, there's what appears to be a comment reading "Find these darn astronauts!" This could be a nod to a story element that will play out in Spider-Man 3 involving J. Jonah Jameson's son, a famed astronaut who becomes Man-Wolf in the comics and whose shuttle brings the Venom symbiote to Earth in both the Spider-Man animated series from the '90s and 2018's Venom. But the latest WandaVision episode also mentions a group of astronauts as part of a S.W.O.R.D. program, one that could link to the Fantastic Four's MCU debut.

The more concrete WandaVision nod is at the top right corner in a story that mentions an "Area 52" in New Jersey. A nod to Area 51, long believed to house evidence of aliens, this seems like a fairly explicit tie to WandaVision's Westview, NJ, proving the Sony marketing for Spider-Man 3 is firmly connected to the MCU. It also hints that the events of the Disney+ show could factor into the upcoming Spidey film.

Not much is known about the plot of the untitled third Spider-Man film, but it looks like it will deal with the multiverse. Doctor Strange will appear in the film as Peter's new mentor, and former Spider-Man movie actors Alfred Molina and Jamie Foxx will be reprising their roles. With Wanda appearing in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and these new details potentially linking Spider-Man to WandaVision, perhaps the Scarlet Witch will play a role in the mysterious events of Spider-Man 3.

Directed by Jon Watts, the currently untitled sequel to Spider-Man: Far From Home stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Jamie Foxx, Alfred Molina and Benedict Cumberbatch. The film arrives in theaters Dec. 17.

Written by Jac Schaeffer and directed by Matt Shakman, WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as Vision, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau and Kathryn Hahn as Agnes. New episodes air Fridays on Disney+.
