Actor Tom Holland has kept the hype train going as rumors and leaked images centered on the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Spider-Man 3 begin to circulate.

Speaking on Variety's Awards Circuit Podcast, Holland described his overall impression of the film's intent. He teased, "I can say that it's the most ambitious standalone superhero movie ever made. You sit down, read the script, and see what they're trying to do, and they're succeeding. It's really impressive. I've never seen a standalone superhero movie quite like it."

Regarding the filming of the movie, behind the scenes photos showed that it would be taking place around Christmas. Holland commented on the work done so far, revealing "We got a lot more shooting to do. We started before Christmas and shot for like seven weeks. We stopped for the Christmas break, and then we’re starting again." His comments in the interview also demonstrated his excitement and appreciation for the role, stating "I’m just, you know, again, that lucky little shit who happens to be Spider-Man in it," and "I’m just as excited as everyone else to see it, let alone be a part of it."

Holland approached the subject of his next outing as the web-head carefully. The actor has notably developed a reputation for unintentionally revealing Marvel Cinematic Universe spoilers and, in that respect, is comparable to co-star Mark Ruffalo.

Despite his early caution, he admitted the spoilers were still so close to escaping him. When jokingly asked if he could discuss the ending of the film, Holland replied after a pause, "What's funny is like, I nearly told you then. You were so close to getting what you want."

The end-credits scene from Spider-Man: Far From Home left the titular superhero in an uncertain situation. With Peter Parker seemingly outed as Spider-Man, the questions raised for the direction of the sequel were numerous. Further adding to the intrigue were the various rumors that stated the film was looking to bring in former iterations of the hero played by Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire. It was also revealed that actors such as Alfred Molina would be reprising his villainous role as Doc Ock, alongside Jamie Foxx's Electro.

Directed by Jon Watts, the currently untitled sequel to Spider-Man: Far From Home stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Jamie Foxx, Alfred Molina and Benedict Cumberbatch. The film arrives in theaters Dec. 17, 2021.
