Spider-Man 3 has reportedly added Succession actor Arian Moayed to its cast in an undisclosed role.

Moayed was reported to be a part of the Marvel Studios/Sony Pictures film by Murphy's Multiverse, which notes that his unnamed role will be that of a detective. The source also suggested that Moayed had already filmed some scenes.

Details around Spider-Man 3's plot remain scarce; however, it was recently revealed by Spidey-lead Tom Holland that neither Tobey Maguire nor Andrew Garfield will appear in the film. Despite previous rumors saying otherwise, Holland insisted, "No."

Holland added, "Unless they have hidden the most massive piece of information from me, which I think is too big of a secret for them to keep from me. But as of yet, no. It'll be a continuation of the Spider-Man movies that we've been making."

A recently captured video from the set of the upcoming film showed that Mysterio -- and his outing of Peter Parker as Spider-Man -- will play an integral part of the plot. The video showed a billboard with several posters including one of Mysterio with the words "I Believe" and another poster that reads, "Citizens to Defend Spider-Man." Fans speculated that this and the addition of a detective to its cast could mean that Peter Parker will be on trial -- in public perception, or in actual court -- for the doctored footage that showed him murdering Mysterio.

Marvel Studios President and Marvel Chief Creative Officer Kevin Feige confirmed that Spider-Man 3 and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness would address plot developments from WandaVision, with Benedict Cumberbatch reprising his role as Doctor Strange in both. Given the rumored appearance of prior Spider-Man actors/characters from previous franchises and the presence of the Sorcerer Supreme, fans speculated the film's plot will explore a multiverse akin to 2018's Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

A recent report also suggested that Willem Dafoe will factor into film after he was spotted on-set in early February. However, it's unconfirmed if Dafoe will be reprising his role of Norman Osborn for the latest adventure of Spider-Man.

Directed by Jon Watts, the currently untitled sequel to Spider-Man: Far From Home stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Jamie Foxx, Alfred Molina and Benedict Cumberbatch. The film arrives in theaters Dec. 17.
