SPIDER-MAN 3

With the most unusual rumor seen on these pages in some time, IMDB has actress Rosemary Harris pulling double duty as both Aunt May and a character that will surely shock and amaze comics fans everywhere.

In more normal news, Lighthouse News has a link on its front page showing more than sixty photos from Sunday's shooting in New York City. You can also catch photos of James Cromwell as Captain James Stacy, Bryce Dallas Howard as Gwen Stacy and both director Sam Raimi and actor Topher Grace here. Superhero Hype has a set report with more photos.

PREACHER

Creator Mark Millar followed up with Garth Ennis about rumors of the Vertigo property coming to HBO. Millar wrote, "I thought director Rachel Talalay and Electric Entertainment were still attached, but Garth told me they haven't been involved with the property for well over a year now and it's very much up for grabs. As for the notion of an HBO production, he says he knows very little about this, but -- like me -- feels that 'Preacher' would be brilliantly served on Television."

X-MEN 3

The mutant minded movie made history this weekend, pulling in a domestic box office total of $120 million according to Box Office Mojo. Variety (subscription required) reports that this broke the previous Memorial Day weekend box office record of $96 million set by "Shrek 2" in 2004. However, despite this clear economic mandate, Marvel's movie mogul Avi Arad told the trade that the company's stance was spinoffs yes, "X4" no. "The first reaction, which we should discard, is here comes 'X-Men 4,'" said Arad. "We're working on 'Wolverine,' which is definitely a continuation, and we have a very interesting script about a young Magneto."

Producer Ralph Winter echoed those sentiments at Comics Continuum, saying "This is the last movie of this type. There might be spinoffs, but it would be hard to gather this cast or a bigger one for another movie of this size."

Money aside, what did you think of the film? CBR wants to know in this poll. Oh, and if you like spoilers, you'll enjoy this note about the post-credits footage that some feel is worth waiting for.

BLADE

The same page at Comics Continuum has two new photos of actor Nelson Lee as the Daywalker's armorer, Shen. The network description of the character reads: "Blade's loyal ally and confidant, Shen works to perfect new technologies and specialized weaponry for Blade to use in his battles against vampires."

SUPERMAN RETURNS

The fifth television spot has been posted at Brandon Routh's website.
