The cast of Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures' untitled Spider-Man 3 continues to grow, as another pair of actors may reprise their roles for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

According to the The Illuminerdi, Willem Dafoe and Thomas Hayden Church arena the process of closing deals to reprise their respective roles as Norman Osborn/Green Goblin and the Sandman. If the deals go through, they will join fellow Sam Raimi alum Alfred Molina, who is reportedly reprising his role as Doctor Octopus, and Tobey Maguire as his respective version of Peter Parker. As with Maguire and Molina, the details of Dafoe and Church's roles are being kept under wraps, and Marvel has declined to comment on the potential castings.

Dafoe portrayed the Green Goblin in Sam Raimi's first Spider-Man film, where the villain perished after his final battle with the web-slinger. He would eventually return in Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man 3, not as a reincarnated bad guy, but a vision who haunted his son Harry (James Franco). Church portrayed Flint Marco in Spider-Man 3, where he was revealed to be the criminal who fatally shot Peter's Uncle Ben. A freak accident bonded the cells of Marko's body with sand, allowing him to transform into sand. Though he appeared to die in the film, being blasted to bits by water and swept into the sewers, in the comic the villain has survived far worse situations.

Filming for Spider-Man 3 began in Atlanta, GA in late October. The plot of the film is being kept under wraps, but fans have long speculated that the multiverse is involved in some matter. During Disney Investor Day, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed that the film is connected to events happening in WandaVision and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Benedict Cumberbatch will appear as the Sorcerer Supreme in the absence of Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark, seeping in to fill a mentorship role to Tom Holland's Peter Parker.

In addition to Maguire and his villains, the film is rumored to also bring back Andrew Garfield's Amazing incarnation of Spider-Man and has Jamie Foxx reprising his role as Electro. Kristen Dunst's Mary Jane is reportedly signed to return as well, while talks are reportedly under way with Emma Stone to return as the deceased Gwen Stacy. Rounding out the cast is Charlie Cox, who is reported to reprise his Marvel/Netflix series role as Matt Murdock/Daredevil.

Directed by Jon Watts, the currently untitled sequel to Spider-Man: Far From Home stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Jamie Foxx, Alfred Molina and Benedict Cumberbatch. The film arrives in theaters Dec. 17, 2021.
