Gwen Stacy from Earth 65 is a woman of many names; Spider-Women, Spider-Gwen, and now, Ghost-Spider. It doesn't matter what her name is, or how many times it changes. We'll still know that she's fighting the good fight, and doing everything in her power to protect those around her.

She's one of the few heroes from her world, and as such she's had so face so much alone. Perhaps that is why she seems to always find herself in the middle of so many brutal fights and iconic moments. Considering how many fights she's been in, we've gone ahead and put together a list of ten of the most brutal fights Gwen Stacy has found herself in.

10 Gwen Vs Vulture

Adrian Toomes, aka the Vulture, is one of many characters who make an appearance on Earth 65. Like the rest, he is vastly different from his Earth 616 equivalent. Well, except for the fact that he desperately wants to be a villain.

The Vulture is a tough fight for Gwen, but perhaps not for the reasons you might expect. He's more heartbreaking than threatening when it comes to being a villain. But he does seem to have a talent for striking when Gwen is at her weakest and thus has resulted in more than one difficult fight for our heroine.

9 Gwen Vs S.I.L.K.

Cindy 65 is an alternate version of Cindy Moon, aka Silk. She's nothing like the quippy hero we've come to know, however. Though ironically the moniker Silk still has meaning to her. She runs an organization known as S.I.L.K. and is the direct reason why Gwen Stacy of Earth 65 got her powers.

She's also a major antagonist of the series, causing Gwen no end of trouble. It doesn't hurt that she's an evil genius and that she is more than willing to lean on her organization to get some of the dirty work done.

8 Gwen Vs Rhino

Believe it or not, Aleksei Sytsevich, aka the Rhino, also has life within Earth 65. Or more accurately, another version of himself. He used to work for Matt Murdock – the Kingpin of Earth 65. That is until he got busted by Spider-Gwen.

Rhino became infamous in the world of Spider-Gwen for his brutal assault on Gwen's dad, and this is the main reason why he earned a spot on this list. An attack on her heart still counts as a brutal battle in our book.

7 Gwen Vs Man-Wolf

Ready for a real head-spinner? That's a villain known as Man-Wolf in Earth 65, and he has caused Gwen a significant amount of pain and suffering. But you'll never believe his real name. John Jonah Jameson.

Yes, you read that right. Man-Wolf has created some truly epic and painful fights for Gwen, not least of which due to the fact that he cares very little about collateral damage. In fact, he relishes in causing as much as possible.

6 Gwen Vs The Jackal

The Jackal is another major problem for Gwen. To be clear, in this instance we're actually talking about the one from Earth 616, not the one from Earth 65. As it turns out, the original one is infinitely more brutal.

He's also much more obsessed with Gwen Stacy, as it turns out. So much so that he was willing to follow her back to her earth and cause merry mayhem, all in the name of trying to capture her.

5 Gwen Vs The Green Goblin

Fighting the Green Goblin – no matter what universe you're from – is an exercise in pain. That saying is all the truer when it's your friend wielding the mantle. The Green Goblin of Earth 65 is (was) Harold Osborn, a friend of Peter Parker (deceased), and Gwen Stacy.

Harry didn't take the death of his friend well, and it led to him joining a top-secret experiment. You can guess how that ended up. Naturally, it came down to Spider-Gwen to stop him. It was an emotional battle, one that eventually resulted in her revealing the truth to her friend.

4 Gwen Vs Frank Castle

You see the name Frank Castle and you immediately assume that it's going to be an intense fight. And you wouldn't be wrong for doing so. On Earth 65 Frank Castle is part of the law, albeit part of the law that has become slightly broken with time.

The end result is that Castle went after Spider-Gwen with everything he had. He certainly crossed some legal boundaries in the process, making Gwen's fight all the more difficult and challenging.

3 Gwen Vs Matt Murdock

Matt Murdock, the Kingpin of Earth 65. Hard to believe, we know. He has all of the skills of the Daredevil we know, but he lacks the moral compass. He was a rough match for Gwen, partially because he had the forward-thinking to get a hold on her early on.

Later, when they finally clashed, it easily became one of the more emotional and intense fights of Gwen's life. Murdock had wanted to prove that all people with powers were inclined towards the dark side, so to speak, all while Gwen had to fight him, his army, and the public opinion.

2 Gwen (& Allies) Vs The Inheritors

Anybody that follows any of the Spider characters probably has an idea of how big and bad the Inheritors are. They're a family bent on destruction. Specifically? They want to destroy (and eat) the Web Warrior.

The first time our heroes, Gwen included, faced off against the Inheritors it came at great cost to them all. More than one Web Warrior fell in the process, and that is something the survivors will remember to the end of their days.

1 Gwen (& Allies) Vs The Inheritors: The Rematch

Spider-Verse Inheritors

Yes, we're including the Inheritors twice. Enemies like these don't tend to stay dead, or away. The Inheritors recently came back, once again forcing the Web-Warriors to team up and take on the fight. Once again, many lives were lost.

This fight is arguably one of the most brutal, not just because of what was at stake, but because of the emotional toll. Spider-Gwen made herself personally responsible for giving the bad news to the bad news to those that lost loved ones.
