WARNING: This article contains spoilers for Spider-Force #1 by Christopher Priest, Paulo Siqueira, Oren Junior, Craig Yeung, Guru e-FX and VC's Joe Sabino, on sale Wednesday, Oct. 31.

Originally announced at this year's Comic-Con International in San Diego, Spider-Force is a three-issue limited series tying into Spider-Geddon, which is itself a follow-up to 2014’s Spider-Verse. The comic follows the titular Spider-Force: Kaine/Scarlet Spider, Jessica Drew/Spider-Man, Ashley Barton and new heroes Astro-Spider and Spider-Kid. Their mission takes them to the radioactive Earth-3145, from which the Inheritors have escaped. Their objective is to destroy a crystal necessary for resurrection of Solus, the Inheritors' father. And, if the preview for Spider-Force #1 is to be believed, Earth-3145 is going to prove very deadly for the team.

The preview, which starts in medias res, opens with a full-page image of Kaine in a tattered hazmat suit. The face of his mask has been torn to shreds, and his suit is covered in blood. The Scarlet Spider is caught in a shootout in the tunnels of a subway station on Earth-3145. In his narration, Kaine laments that his entire team is going to die because of their damaged hazmat suits, though he does reveal that Jessica Drew's suit remains undamaged and that she may live. Throughout his narration, Kaine blames himself for the impending death of his team.

Kaine's team comes to the tunnels to rescue him from the attacking Inheritors, one of whom is the Verna. Verna, who first appeared in 2014's Superior Spider-Man #33, is a member of the Inheritors and the leader of the villainous Hounds. The team escapes just as a flood of radioactive water fills the tunnels. As he's about to reveal which member of the team will die first, Kaine's narration is cut off.

On its final page, the preview flashes back to the previous day on Earth-218. A mysterious boy on a bicycle takes pictures of a group of drug dealers. The preview ends as three of the dealers, one of whom has a gun, approaches the boy. It's not clear how that boy will factor into the comic's plot. However, it's possible that he may be Spider-Kid.

The preview itself is quite cryptic, leaving fans to which member of Spider-Force will die first, how the team got into such a dire predicament, and how the young boy at the end will factor into the story. However, Spider-Force's mission is going to prove integral to the events of Spider-Geddon, and it seems like many members of the team aren't going to make it off Earth-3145 alive.

Spider-Geddon will bring Morlun and his Inheritors back to the Marvel Universe, introducing a few new villains in the process. Marvel is promising shocking deaths and returns for the series, leaving fans to wonder if their favorite Spider-heroes will survive the event.
