Everyone who listens to music, regardless of whether or not they're into pop music, has heard about the Spice Girls, whose songs like "Wannabe" and "Spice Up Your Life" ruled the charts. The British pop group rocketed to fame in the '90s and are often credited with paving the way for and inspiring future female music artists, including groups like the Pussycat Dolls and singers such as Lady Gaga.

After a lengthy hiatus and a few sporadic performances over the last two decades, the Spice Girls are back, reuniting for a new animated film centered on the singing group. All five members have signed on to star, so Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisholm, Geri Halliwell and Victoria Beckham are part of the project. What's more, according to Paramount Animation president Mireille Soria, the Spice Girls are "very much involved" in the creative side of things.

The film is said to include classic Spice Girl hits as well as a few new songs. Simon Fuller is attached as producer and Karen McCullah and Kiwi Smith are writing the screenplay. The writing pair have worked together on films such as Legally Blonde and Ella Enchanted in the past.
