Artist Stanley "Artgerm" Lau revealed his stunning first-ever sketch-up of Todd McFarlane's Spawn.

Lau posted the painting on his Twitter account, captioning the sketch, "Day 12. My first proper sketch of Spawn. Pretty fun to draw for sure. I've uploaded the first 10 sketches to my online shop for auctions. Shop.artgerm.com #spawn #arttrober2020."

The image features a menacing Spawn with his trademark green flames protruding behind him, complemented by his iconic green eyes. His left clawed hand grasps toward the forefront of the image, slightly revealing his spiked wrist gauntlet.

The Singapore-based artist has built quite the name for himself in comics. Artgerm's variant cover work for both DC and Marvel has granted him a platform to showcase his polished renditions of the two companies' most popular characters, including Doctor Doom, Batman and Wonder Woman's daughter, Kull, from Dark Nights: Death Metal, and the stunning Detective Comics variant featuring Wonder Woman's official movie sequel costume design.

Todd McFarlane created the fan-favorite character, Spawn, when he was only sixteen years old. Later in life, after teaming up with six other comic book artists to create Image Comics, Spawn #1 was published in 1992 and sold 1.7 million copies, a groundbreaking record for independent comics. Since then, the character has amassed a strong fan base.
