Fans of South Park should take some comfort in the knowledge that the beloved, gleefully offensive cartoon isn't going anywhere anytime soon -- Trey Parker and Matt Stone's massive Comedy Central hit will have its Season 23 premiere next week, and their show was also recently confirmed to be renewed through at least 2022. That said, they still have some thoughts on when they'll be ready to wind down the series.
In an interview today with The Hollywood Reporter, Parker and Stone revealed they have at least some idea of when they want to wrap up their 20-plus year show.
"I don’t think we have ever had an 'OK, let’s sit down and decide if we are going to keep going,'" said Parker, with Stone adding: "I am 48. Trey turns 50 this year. So, I will say that I don’t think we will be doing this show when we're 60."
Of course, THR is quick to note that the duo said something very similar when they were approaching their 40s, so it's probably best to take their estimates with a grain of salt.
