WARNING: The following article contains major spoilers for South Park's Season 23 episode, "Let Them Eat Goo."

While South Park has taken several shots in its 23rd season at the likes of China, not to mention the way Disney does business, Eric Cartman really hasn't been the one firing as much. In fact, apart from getting Kyle thrown into a concentration camp in the premiere episode, "Mexican Joker," he's had a relatively quiet season so far, as the focus is on Randy Marsh's weed industry. However, in "Let Them Eat Goo," Cartman finally gets his say on a particular issue as creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker let him take aim and bash the vegan industry -- something he believes is a facade and overrated by ignorant people.

Randy has cut ties with China and reunited with Towelie to get his weed business back making profit. However, in a bid to diversify, they go into the burger business, using marijuana to create plant-based Tegridy Burgers. They may taste just as bad as Burger King's products according to Randy, but the high people get will make the difference. And so, these burgers become popular, with the town's high school even implementing a plant-based menu.

Driven by Stan's girlfriend, Wendy, the entire school accepts the new status quo, except, of course, for Cartman. We all know he's an avid meat eater and he actually gets a couple of "heart attacks" from the healthy food being served. Simply put, to him something is very wrong with vegan food and he doesn't care if adults like Tegridy Burgers, the school needs its menu to be packed with meat. A compromise is reached, however, with Incredible Meat supplying the school's meats, but as a big conspiracy unravels, Cartman gets to hit out at vegans in a subtle, non-aggressive manner that would even surprise his diehard fans.

Cartman meets the person behind Incredible Meats, the Goo Man, who's teamed up with the one worker remaining at Burger King, Rick. The latter's angry Tegridy Burgers has stolen all his customers while the Goo Man wants to monopolize things and be the only plant-based food provider around. They're aided by a rancher who gave his cows away, as no one was eating beef anymore.

What ensues is a shocking turns of events as the truth is revealed to Cartman in terms of what this new conglomerate wants to achieve -- putting Randy out of business. It turns out the green "goo" can resemble any food requested, which is why when Cartman ate beef tacos in school. He didn't even know it wasn't really beef, but it was all plant-based. The Goo Man reveals the complex industrial process responsible for making "goo" for school lunches is similar to what's done in meat processing. It's still additives, chemicals and hormones, which is why it tastes similar.

Cartman is flabbergasted and when he gets back to school, rather than snap at everyone, he's the one who actually apologizes. While he previously thought his classmates were trying to trick him into eating a nutritious, balanced and healthy meal, he says that it's all made from a factory and the "goo" is just as bad as meat. It has added salt just like all the other "processed crap that comes in a box" and seeing as all he wants is to "eat the same garbage" he always has, he's still getting his wish. To him, the "goo" is this garbage, and he doesn't give a damn if it's more sustainable or ethical -- it's just as tasty and unsafe as what came before. In other words, Cartman calls the vegan industry out for delivering him the same unhealthy crap he's used to and accepts that it masks its processes and ingredients well enough to fool people.

Starring Trey Parker and Matt Stone, South Park Season 23 airs Wednesdays at 10 pm ET/PT on Comedy Central.
