WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Season 1, Episode 3, "Little Adventures," of AMC's Soulmates.

AMC's Soulmates has a few flaws in its perfect match system as Soul Connex uses a scientific test to pair up true loves. Psycho stalkers have emerged, as well as people who still might be in love with spouses they left, but usually, the show has made its characters into victims the test manipulates, mentally twisting them like robotic pawns to run down romance.

However, it's only now that fans are seeing someone exploit the system and actually beat it in the form of the emotionally needy Libby (Laia Costa).

Libby's quite a conundrum as she has an open marriage with Adam, leaning on him a lot emotionally while seeking out one-night stands. Seeing as she moved in with him quickly, there are hints she isn't as physically there with him as he'd like, but again, their polyamorous nature seems to fix this. That is until Miranda, a schoolteacher, finds Libby after the test matches them up.

Sparks fly and eventually, Libby leaves Adam and moves in with Miranda. She took the test when she and Adam were on a break a while back, and now, despite Adam hurting, she's enjoying the life she felt she was robbed of -- at least until she realizes Miranda is the total opposite to Adam. Her new partner is cold, distant and wrapped up in her new career as an artist that's taking off. It feels like karma because she slept with Miranda when Adam begged her not to, so Libby is experiencing the selfishness she once doled out.

After squabbles and evidence that Miranda isn't going to change, Libby meets up with Adam after his teaching classes end. However, he informs her he took the test and his soulmate's flying in from England. Still, he hasn't met the person yet so the bond to Libby still exists and she knows she can tug at it. Libby asks him about a mysterious arrangement with a sultry look on her face, and the final scene cuts to Adam's new beau coming to his house, only to meet him smack dab between Libby and Miranda.

As he explains what Libby orchestrated, he's catering to his former partner's needs as she's the pivot of this love triangle -- now a quadrangle. Libby can't get emotional comfort from Miranda, just physicality, so she wants this big family where she can be nurtured and cared for by Adam. Miranda, in turn, would get her physical needs from Libby, and emotionally, she'd have her art. Adam has Libby for his emotional support, and now, this mysterious young Brit is being asked to part of this unique relationship.

Adam doesn't know her in-depth, so it's hard to say if their connection will be more physical than emotional, or vice versa. But, as Libby is smiling, it's clear she beat the system by dividing love into various pieces she can pick up from different people while convincing them to do the same. As Adam's soulmate asks for some tea to soak in what's happening, Libby's proving someone can manipulate people based on what the test results tell them they need.

Soulmates is written by Will Bridges and Brett Goldstein and stars Sarah Snook, Kingsley Ben-Adir, David Costabile, Laia Costa, Charlie Heaton, Malin Akerman, Bill Skarsgård and Betsy Brandt. Soulmates airs Mondays at 10 p.m. ET on AMC.
