Yet another new face has joined the cast of Transformers 4. Underworld star Sophia Myles, who recently attended the premiere of Michael Bay's Pain & Gain, is said to have taken the role of a scientist in the film.

TheWrap didn't receive confirmation from Paramount Pictures, so the website's insiders revealed the scientist angle. Little is known about the plot of Transformers 4, but it's easy to see how a scientist could be significant to the story.

It's unclear if Myles will play a protagonist or antagonist, but she joins a pretty stacked lineup, as Kelsey Grammer was recently cast as the movie's human villain, and Mark Wahlberg will be its lead. Nicola Peltz has been tapped as Wahlberg's daughter, and Jack Reynor will play her boyfriend. Stanley Tucci has joined in an undisclosed role.

Transformers 4 is slated to launch a new trilogy of Transformers movies, and Bay said previously that the film taking place place four years after the events of Transformers: Dark of the Moon will make sense in context. “The story makes a very natural transition, and reason as to why we have a whole new cast,” he said in January. “This Transformers will feel very different then the last three. We are embarking on a new trilogy.” Transformers 4 is due in theaters on June 27, 2014.
