Sony's 'Uncharted' Loses Another Director

"King of Kong" director Seth Gordon has exited "Uncharted," Sony's long-brewing adaptation of the popular video game series.

According to Heroic Hollywood, new Sony Pictures Chairman Tom Rothman had sought to have the movie made on a smaller budget, which led to the director's departure. TheWrap has confirmed the report, adding Rothman "decided to take the project in a new creative direction."

Gordon, who boarded "Uncharted" in February 2014, was the film's third director, following David O. Russell and Neil Burger.

The action-adventure game follows Nathan Drake, a treasure hunter and descendant of legendary explorer Francis Drake, on the hunt for the lost golden city of El Dorado.
