Amid soaring global tensions, the coronavirus has continuously forced movie delays and cancellations. This time around, Sony's Uncharted is the latest victim.

According to Variety, pre-production on the long-awaited movie has been halted for six weeks. Filming was scheduled to begin in Berlin during the month of April, but that was also canceled indefinitely because of the outbreak.

The delays, of course, will likely impact Uncharted's March 5, 2021, release. Unfortunately, this is an extra obstacle in the 13-year history of the Uncharted film -- the movie's development process has been riddled with script rewrites and directorial changes. Moreover, Uncharted has now joined an expansive list of delayed films, including Water Bros.' The Matrix 4, Disney's The Little Mermaid and Netflix's Red Notice.

One of Naughty Dog's most beloved video game franchises, Uncharted chronicles the adventures of treasure hunter Nathan Drake as he travels around the world unearthing ancient lore and unimaginable riches.

Directed by Ruben Fleischer, Uncharted stars Tom Holland, Mark Wahlberg, Antonio Banderas, Sophia Ali and Tati Gabrielle. As of right now, the film is planned to arrive in theaters March 5, 2021.
