A number of films have had to delay production due to the current coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, which reportedly includes Marvel Studios' upcoming third Spider-Man solo film.

The British Film Institute recently released an article on how the coronavirus outbreak is impacting the movie industry, and it specifically mentions that productions on The Little Mermaid, Sony's Spider-Man 3 and The Batman had been halted. Warner Bros. already confirmed reports that The Batman's production would be delayed indefinitely and Disney suspended The Little Mermaid in early March.

It wouldn't much of a surprise if production on Spider-Man 3 was delayed as most other current Marvel productions have been put on hold, including Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten RingsWandaVision and The Falcon and Winter Soldier. Most notably, Black Widow lost its May release date.

The Tom Holland-led third Spider-Man film is currently untitled and was supposed to begin filming this summer. The film will show Holland reprising his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man with Zendaya returning as Peter's love-interest MJ. It is slated to release on July 16, 2021, though if production is delayed this date could change.
