The first footage from Sony Pictures' long-awaited Uncharted film adaptation finally arrived, albeit from an unexpected source.

Sony released a video entitled The Voices of Sony: Employees that shines a spotlight on the many people who bring Sony's countless projects to life. At the 1:32 mark, fans can catch a quick look at Tom Holland's Nathan Drake and Mark Wahlberg's Victor "Sully" Sullivan.

Created in 2007, the Uncharted video game series follows the adventures of Nathan Drake, a treasure hunter and thief descended from the explorer Sir Francis Drake. The franchise began with Uncharted: Drake's Fortune on PlayStation 3, which has since been followed by three sequels and a prequel game titled Uncharted: Golden Abyss for PlayStation Vita in 2011. However, the Uncharted film will feature an "original story" that isn't based on any of the existing video games.

"I didn't really feel like it was at all worthy of making a video game adaptation, [if] we're just gonna copy what the game is and just serve people a lesser experience than what they've experienced in such an incredible way," the film's previous director Dan Trachtenberg said before departing the project.

Directed by Ruben Fleischer, Uncharted stars Tom Holland, Mark Wahlberg, Antonio Banderas, Sophia Ali and Tati Gabrielle. The film arrives in theaters Feb. 18, 2022.
