Sony Pictures's Kraven the Hunter starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson will reportedly have a connection to the Marvel Cinematic Universe -- at least according to a description of the film.

A description of Kraven the Hunter lists MCU hero Black Panther as one of the characters the antihero has clashed with. "One of Sony Pictures' universe of Marvel characters, Kraven is one of Marvel's most iconic and notorious antiheros, who has encountered Venom and Black Panther, among many others, as well as being one of Spider-Man's best known and most formidable enemies," the description reads.

Portrayed by the late Chadwick Boseman, Black Panther made his MCU debut in 2016's Captain America: Civil War. Coincidentally, that is also the film Tom Holland's Spider-Man also joined the MCU. Holland would go on to headline Spider-Man: Homecoming for Sony/Marvel Studios in 2017. While Sony and Marvel have collaborated on three Spider-Man films (Spider-Man: HomecomingSpider-Man: Far From Home and Spider-Man: No Way Home), an MCU character has not appeared in a Sony movie. However, it is worth noting the first trailer for Morbius ended with Michael Keaton's Adrian Toomes making an appearance.

While the Kraven the Hunter description is not an official synopsis, the references to Venom and Black Panther will continue to fuel speculation of the Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters (SPUMC) and Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) crossing over.

Directed by J.C. Chandor, Kraven the Hunter stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson. The film arrives in theaters Jan. 13, 2023.
