Director Joseph Kosinski, known for sci-fi films "Oblivion" and "Tron: Legacy," is in talks to direct an adaptation of video game series "Gran Turismo," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Few details are currently know about the plot of "Gran Turismo," which will adapt the long-running PlayStation franchise, but Kazunori Yamauchi -- lead designer for the video game series -- revealed at Gamescon 2013 that it would center on a video game player turned racer, in a script by Alex Tse. Yet Kosinski will develop a new script if he joins the studio on this project.

Kosinski has racing movie expierence; he worked with Fox on an adaptation of "Go Like Hell: Ford, Ferrari and Their Battle for Speed and Glory at Le Mans" by A. J. Baime that was going to star Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise before production stalled. Michael De Luca and Matt Milam are attached to the film as producers.
