The upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog movie has officially been delayed until February 2020 to make time for design changes. In the meantime, a fan has created a remake of the trailer on YouTube using a more familiar Sonic.

Uploaded by user Artur Baranov, who has other animations on his channel, the remake plays out as a shorter version of the actual trailer, but with a more traditional version of the superfast hedgehog as opposed to the controversial live-action iteration.

In addition to using classic Sonic, Baranov also shortens the introductory scene of Jim Carrey's Dr. Robotnik, as well as a laser blast in the Egyptian desert chase scene, and removes the scene with Sonic in Tom Wachowski's (James Marsden) bag.

While fans are waiting for Sonic to get redesigned for the film, this remake not only gives viewers a glimpse at how a more faithful version of Sonic could possibly fare in the world of live-action, but also does the character justice by using a design that many have come to know and love.
