Sonic makes a crazy decision in order to save his friends from the villainous Doctor Robotnik in a newly released clip from the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog film.

In the clip, Sonic, James Marsden's Tom Wachowski and Tika Sumpter's Maddie Wachowski are on a roof staring down an army of weaponized robots, all led by Jim Carrey's Doctor Robotnik. While there appears to be no means of escape, Sonic quickly comes up with an idea and pushes his pals off the roof, much to Robotnik's surprise.

The character model for Sonic was completely redesigned after massive online backlash following the hedgehog's debut. In turn, the release date of the film was moved from November 2019 to February 2020. Blur Studio, Moving Picture Company, Trixter, Marza Animation Planet and Digital Domain all worked on visual effects for the movie, and it was reported that the redesign cost Paramount Pictures $2.15 million.

Despite this, Sonic is estimated to have a great opening weekend, with some predicting it could make around $40 million domestically.
