Paramount Pictures' cast of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has gained a new addition in S.W.A.T. star Shemar Moore.

The actor shared the news on his Instagram account in a photo with co-stars James Marsden, Tika Sumpter and Natasha Rothwell. Moore captioned the photo, "Aaayyyeee!!! Homies, Fans, n Baby Girls!!!! Your boy is excited to be a part of the #SonicMovie2 cast along with @james_marsden @tikasumpter and @natasharothwell"

At this time Moore's role in Sonic 2 remains a mystery, though new details on the sequel have been revealed in recent months. A synopsis confirmed Knuckles and Tails' roles, with Knuckles joining forces with Robotnik and Tails forming a friendship with Sonic the Hedgehog.

After settling in Green Hills, Sonic is ready for more freedom, and Tom and Maddie agree to leave him home while they go on vacation. But, no sooner are they gone, when Dr. Robotnik comes back, this time with a new partner, Knuckles, in search for an emerald that has the power to both build and destroy civilizations. Sonic teams up with his own sidekick, Tails, and together they embark on a journey to find the emerald before it falls into the wrong hands. Being directed by Jeff Fowler, and starring Jim Carrey, James Marsden, and Ben Schwartz.
