As the first wave of marketing for next year's Sonic the Hedgehog live-action movie have been released online, a new post from Paramount pokes good-natured fun at online criticism the redesigned video game character has received.

In a cheeky tweet from the official Sonic movie account, the eponymous speedster is seen carrying a sign noting he will work out in response to fan criticism that the "live-action" depiction of the character sported legs that were too skinny; the comical new image shows the titular hedgehog now with overly muscular legs instead.

A motion poster for the film was released last week followed by another teaser poster showing the character overlooking San Francisco from atop the Golden Gate Bridge with only his legs visible.

The new film will reportedly have Sonic enter the real world along with his longtime nemesis Doctor Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik with the furry, blue speedster growing accustomed to our world as he attempts to defeat his foe once again.
