Sonic the Hedgehog and Mega Man -- both stars of cross-generational video game franchises and crown jewels of the Archie Action line -- will meet again, this time in a comic book crossover starting spring 2015 and titled "Worlds Unite."

Revealed Tuesday on Polygon as a pre-New York Comic Con announcement, not much is yet known about "Worlds Unite," other than it's the sequel to 2013'a 12-part arc "Worlds Collide." (Based on titles alone, "Worlds Unite" certainly sounds more peaceful, but that could be very well be misleading.) Like "Worlds Collide," "Worlds Unite" will be written by Ian Flynn, the regular writer of both the "Sonic the Hedgehog" and "Mega Man" ongoing series. Patrick "Spaz" Spaziante will illustrate the story's covers.

"We can't give away too much just yet -- but the first crossover saw two worlds collide in battle, and this time around worlds will unite," Paul Kaminski, executive director of editorial, and Archie Action line editor, told CBR. "What worlds are involved in that unity is yet to be revealed, but you can bet it's going to be big!"

"Worlds Unite" will likely be a major topic of discussion during the "Archie Action Hour: Sonic the Hedgehog and Mega Man" NYCC panel with Kaminski and more, taking place 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9 in room 1A18.
